ParkShark on Fox
July 19, 2011San Francisco Street Cleaning Regulations Are Here
April 15, 2011With the latest release of ParkShark we now include the city Street Cleaning regulations and parking signs for San Francisco. This is the first extensive data set outside of New York City that we have incorporated.
As of now, we only have the San Fancisco street cleaning regulations. Hopefully we’ll be able to help prevent a few parking tickets for some of you San Franciscan’s.
We’re working on additional cities as we speak. Thanks for using ParkShark!

NYC Parking Regulations Suspensions
December 24, 2010Don’t forget when driving around NYC this holiday season that you can view all of the NYC parking regulations on every street right on your iPhone. And we even tell you which ones are suspended on that particular day.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the team at ParkShark. Drive safely.
ParkShark + Twitter
September 14, 2010We added Twitter integration to ParkShark a few releases ago but never really advertised the fact. We did this so that we could do some real world testing before letting the cat out of the bag. Well, we’ve done our work and now are ready to make it known…ParkShark + Twitter = Fun Parking. Now you can let your followers know when you’ve bagged that perfect parking spot in Manhattan! Or, show your good karma by letting them know when you are sharing your parking spot for other ParkShark community members. Good stuff!
ParkShark for iPad
August 22, 2010We’ve recently released ParkShark v1.4 which is the first version of our universal iPhone app that runs on iPhone and iPad. The iPad version provides a much richer user experience due to the more useable map sizes and iPad popover views.
Try it out and let us know your experiences with using ParkShark!
ParkShark v1.2 for iPhone
May 7, 2010We’ve finally released the latest iPhone version of ParkShark, version 1.2! This release was a fairly significant effort and we hope you will find it enjoyable. We’ve added quite a few new features and enhanced quite a few of the existing features. We’ve also streamlined the interactive flow of the app to make it faster and more intuitive to use.
I will describe most of the new features in upcoming postings, but I did want to tell you about our most important new feature now. As mentioned in a previous posting, we have added a new flagship feature called “Parking Regulation StreetSpans”. These color coded map overlays show where you are allowed to park at any given time and for how long you may park according to the NYC Parking Regulations. These regulations include street sweeping rules, holiday suspensions, parking meter rules, bus stops, taxi stands, etc. We have currently enabled the StreetSpans for Manhattan and Queens. We’ll be making the rest of NYC available soon.

If you are a regular user of ParkShark you will also find quite a few enhancements from our last version. First of all, we have added a home screen that consolidates the main application functions in a more accessible manner via a large button interface. This should make the app easier to use on the go. Of course, as always, please never use ParkShark while actually driving!

The new Home Screen in ParkShark for iPhone v1.2
One of the benefits of including the home screen is that it allows us to remove the bottom tab bar to gain valuable screen real-estate for our core mapping interface. You will also notice the addition of a few new buttons and removal of a few others on the map screen. We’ve made a concerted effort to reduce the number of steps and the time required to find or share your parking spots.
Please give the new app a try and give us some feedback. You can get it in the App Store. Make the app yours! We promise to take all of your suggestions seriously and will give them all due consideration. ParkShark’s usefulness is is directly related the level of community participation. Let’s stop wasting our valuable time searching for parking by becoming efficient ParkSharks!
StreetSpans Preview
March 31, 2010We’re working hard on the new v1.2 iPhone release of ParkShark. It should be available in a few weeks. One of the new features is called Parking Regulation StreetSpans. Here is a preview:
What you see here is a quick view of parking availability around you based on the NYC street regulations e.g. street sweeping rules, bus stops, etc. The color coding gives you an indication of where you can park and for how long. Parking Regulation StreetSpans do not guarantee that parking will be available, only whether or not it is allowed at the current time. It is a great complement to the core parking spot sharing functionality of ParkShark.
